Safe Asian Communities

Program Goals and Services

The GOAL of the Safe Asian Communities (SAC) program is to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate safety education and prevention workshops to Asian communities within Central Ohio. The SAC is to reduce the number of traffic-related crashes, fatalities, injuries and property damage through safety service programs.

BUCKLE UP: It’s the LAW
Nearly two-thirds of those killed in motor vehicle crashes in Ohio did not wear seat belts. Thousands of people who died in car crashes each year might still be alive if they had been wearing their seat belts.

Prevention Education Drinking and Driving

In Ohio, the legal limit of Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is 0.08. If the BAC exceeds 0.08 when you are driving, you will receive a ticket, lose your driver’s license, and even go to jail. SAC invites Ohio troopers to the workshop for demonstrating the serious consequence of drinking and driving and educating new drivers the traffic safety concepts.
